The Virginia Supreme Court ruled last week in Luttrell v. Cucco that an ex-wife’s cohabitation with another woman in a relationship analogous to marriage qualifies to terminate the spousal support she received pursuant to her agreement with her ex-husband.
The decision overturned the Court of Appeals’ ruling on the case, and affirms that same-sex marriages are now legally equivalent to heterosexual marriages in Virginia.
